Dombivli is a major city in the Thane district of Maharashtra state, western India, forming the eastern half of the twin-city Kalyan-Dombivli Municipal Corporation together with Kalyan. With a combined population of over one and a half million in the Kalyan-Dombivli corporation and a significant proportion residing in Dombivli itself, it is one of the larger cities in the MMR outside of Mumbai proper.
