Gouda is a city and municipality in the province of South Holland in the western Netherlands, located at the confluence of the Gouwe and Hollandse IJssel rivers. Situated approximately 25 kilometres northeast of Rotterdam and 15 kilometres south of The Hague, Gouda occupies a strategic position within the Randstad, the densely urbanised western region of the Netherlands.
