The city has a well-developed urban center with attractive pedestrian streets, parks, and public spaces. The Pirogov Museum-Estate, located on the outskirts of the city, preserves the home and medical legacy of Nikolai Pirogov, a pioneering 19th-century Russian surgeon who retired to the Vinnytsya region and whose contributions to medicine and surgery earned him an enduring place in history.

Vinnytsya has a diverse industrial and service economy, with food processing, machine building, and information technology sectors contributing to local employment.
